Shaw offers both solid and engineered wood. Solid wood is milled from a single ¾" inch piece of hardwood. Engineered wood can be installed at all levels of the home and is fashioned with three to five layers of hardwood. Each layer is constructed in a cross-grain fashion and then bonded together under heat and pressure. Shaw offers two different types of engineered wood including one with a hardwood core the other a high density fiberboard core. Installation is easy by offering Versalock ™ with a patented tongue and groove technology that secures flooring panels on all sides for installation without adhesive or nails. It can also be taken apart and re-assembled.
